The Stone in My Shoe

The Stone in My Shoe

The Stone in My Shoe

with Debbie Thompson

For midlife women who have built a good life, and are ready to live it a little more fully, and honestly, as themselves.

Meet Debbie

I’m Debbie Thompson.

I’m trained as a counsellor and an educator — but that’s not really where this comes from. For most of my life I had a stone in my shoe. Not big enough to stop me walking. Just — there. A quiet sense that something wasn’t right, even when everything looked right.

Then a few things stripped the noise away. A business that failed. And at thirty-nine, breast cancer. The problem was never my life. It was that I hadn’t been honest about how I felt inside it.

What I found wasn’t a problem to fix. It was information I’d been ignoring. That’s the work I do now with other women.

These days

These days, home looks smaller than it used to. Coffee before the house wakes up. A husband I still like sitting across from. A laptop open to another woman’s story.

Not because I’m chasing anything anymore. Because I’ve finally slowed down enough to notice what’s actually here.

That’s the spirit of this work, too. Not a fixed life. A more honest one.

Why this exists

I don’t want women to get to the end of their life and realise they held back.

You’re not here because something went wrong. You’re here because something’s missing — and you noticed.

The stone was never the problem. Avoiding it is. The moment you stop judging it and actually look, you don’t fall apart. You expand.

What I’ve come to believe

You can have a good life and still want more.

You can belong and still express yourself.

You can give everything and still choose yourself.

Nothing is wrong. But something is off. That’s where the work begins.

The framework

The Three Cs

01

Curiosity

The podcast & the free reflections — a way to start noticing what's been sitting with you.

02

Courage

Living it out loud, and the one-to-one work — not performance, just permission.

03

Compassion

For yourself, for others — where what you've seen starts to settle into how you live.

In their words

Women who’ve done this work

Debbie was gentle and kind. I feel more clear on my 'why' and have some tools to use in my daily life. I've noticed I feel lighter and less burdened.

I've stopped waiting — I finally enrolled in a course I'd held as a dream for years.
Helen P.
The visualisation techniques gave me a clear way to pause, focus, and choose who I want to be. That awareness has rippled into my family too.
Julie S.
I never realised how much my life was being driven by my subconscious. Now I notice how my thoughts affect the life I'm creating.
Anne W.
Debbie has a wonderful way of simplifying complex ideas. She gives people the courage and permission to step into their light, with such compassion.
Helen B.
For years I believed I had to push, fight, and work hard for everything. Debbie helped me see, and let go of, the part of me that believed that was the only way. Life feels lighter now.

I no longer look over my shoulder with fear. I found my smile again.

This is about the moment you realise you’ve been holding back — and what happens when you stop.
